Last night around 5 p.m. my bh turned into one big huge one, literally, lasting pretty much straight on for about 5 hours. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and was well hydrated and fed the whole day. I then got some stabbing pains in my right side and it feels like LO is a lot lower than normally is. He's moving, just not as much as he was about four days ago.
Called the on-call OB and he said to keep resting and hydrating, to come in if bleeding, and follow up with my OB today. Well, the tightness has let up a little bit, but now I'm getting a sharp stabbing pain in my cervix area (maybe he's just kicking it??). Called my OB, he's out for the day, so got put through to his on call for the day. On-call tells me if the symptoms persist that I should go into L&D.
Am I just being a FTM worrier??? or is this something that might be fairly normal?? I'm fairly small to begin with so I'm getting pretty stretched out...could it be that he's just making more room?? Any opinions would be appreciated.
I figure if the tightness doesn't let up by the time my husband gets off work tonight then I'll go in??
Re: thoughts on this??
Honestly I would go in and get checked. BH usually don't cause cervical changes but to have one last as long as you're describing, it could cause a change.
I've gone into L&D twice already for bad bouts of contractions and one of the first questions they ask me is if my belly is softening b/t contractions. It sounds like yours isn't.
I would definitely go in to get checked, for your peace of mind if nothing else. It's probably nothing but better safe than sorry. GL, Sweetie!
