Do you swaddle for naps? Do you have a nap "routine"? I haven't been very good about this and DD has been just sleeping in the swing when I put her down. I am going to start transitioning naps in the crib and I hope it goes okay.
My DS used to be an awesome napper- anytime, anywhere. He even napped through 20 minutes of bagpipes at a wedding. Now he fights them like crazy. Yesterday and today the only way he has napped is lying on my chest, and even then it's not a deep sleep at all. I think we are going to have to start a nap routine, because this can't go on forever!
No routine here. He just falls asleep whenever he feels like it and I go along with it. Today though he has been fighting sleep like crazy and is overtired. I'm rocking him with my foot as I type this trying to get him to sleep.
I don't swaddle anymore at all. My LO didn't like it and would kick until he was free of it so we stopped.
Yes, we have a flexible routine for naps. We've been following the Baby Whisperer EASY routine since around week 2. Basically, it's just Eat, Activity, Sleep. It's been working great for us and DS seems really relaxed and happy.
Here's a sample day for us:
Wake up between 6:30-7a.m. and breastfeed (E)
Around 45 minutes to 1 hour of activity, which could include changing his diaper, putting him under his play gym or just making faces and smiling at him. (A)
Once he's yawning 2-3 times, we swaddle him and put him down in his bassinet in the nursery for a nap. He usually sleeps for around an hour. Then he'll wake up looking for his next feed.
We repeat this Eat, Activity, Sleep routine approx. every 3 hours, which is how often DS feeds. He takes his last feed of the day around 10:30 p.m., then we change him, re-swaddle him and put him to bed in his co-sleeper in our room. He'll usually sleep until 3 a.m. when I feed him, change him and put him back to bed. He'll then sleep until 6:30-7 a.m.

I am trying the easy but he fusses before hes tired then i put him in the swing which he falls asleep I tried swaddling him and putting him in his crib today he slept for about 20 minutes but it was at the end of the 3 hours so he was hungry. I am trying to put him in the crib but sometimes its just easier to put him in the swing he will fall into a schedule so i'm not worried

I am actually in the middle of reading this book, and for the most part we have been following this schedule. I haven't been swaddling for naps and she doesn't sleep in her crib yet though.
