I am happy to report this morning that instead of finding my baby lying in her crib glaring at me with a look of disdain and intense disappointment that her mean mother let her cry herself to sleep, I found quite the contrary. she was her happy giggly normal IT'S A NEW DAY self!
she clearly isn't harboring bitterness towards me.
the first night was 90 minutes of almost continuous crying checking her every 10 minutes... last night was 55. I'm hoping tonight is less because I'm not crazy enough to think there wont be any yet...
But sersiously, when she DID go to sleep, she slept for NINE STRAIGHT HOURS. Yes, NINE. this is the second night in a row. When she was about 3 months old I remember having a convo with H about how we had to do what was best for all of us, not just her... and since we adopted that mentality it's been a lot easier to know what the right thing to do is!
Re: CIO update
Faaaaaaaantastic! I so happy it's working for you.
Im going to have to try this, or something like it. DD was up from 12-1:45, 3-3:30, and then again at 4:30 at which point I put her in bed with us and she slept until 6.
She USED to sleep from 7:30 to 6:30 and life was wonderful. I have no idea what's going on with her, but when she's 16, I'm going to bang pots and pan together in her room everyday at 5AM.
Payback is a biatch, baby!!
ROFL! you're cracking me up here! anyways, yes, we had a blissful time as well. never the 11 hours you speak of, but much better than recent weeks. and going back is NO GOOD. the only way i will revert is if another little tiny newborn pops out of me and let me assure you that is not happening soon.

that is great! I personally found it easier to wean the night feedings when I was still going in there a lot. It takes a while for them to get used to it. I weaned her at 14 weeks... with the very occasional exception like once every few weeks she will get up to eat... i just never really know if it's a growth spurt or what. anyways, does he take a paci? that was what really did it for me with getting her to go all night without eating... i did then however get her in the habit of having the paci
but still, all these things along the way. she hardly ever uses it now though.
However, I will say that if you are trying to night wean, picking them up is pretty much a given that you will be feeding them (esp if you are nursing) because they smell it and it's basically all over at that point LOL. I try to not pick her up when i'm comforting her. i brought her in bed with me a few weeks ago cuz i just needed some GD sleep and it was over ha. so i fed her and we went to sleep. it was nice
but its not nice every night... ifyaknowwhatimean lol
