Local LLL meetings

Anyone been to one of the local La Leche League meetings? I'm wondering how "traditional" they are - are they accepting of anyone who tries to breastfeed, or do they really push exclusive nursing?

    I have never been to one.  My friend's mother is a LC so I just consulted her if I had a problem.  I BF both my girls for 13 months but am no means a BF Nazi..lol...you have to do whatever makes mom happy, because if mommy is not happy no one is happy.

    I totally agree that an unhappy mommy is no good. Formula certainly has its place and I give anyone credit for attempting to breastfeed. With DS, I had lots of issues but stuck to the support groups at hospitals for help. I also work full time, so exclusive nursing is out... I've even heard some LLL groups don't approve of pumping and bottle feeding! So I'm leery of even trying out a meeting because of the BF nazi reputation.
