Quick Update (...and a funny story)

Yesterday was follicle check #3 and the results were really soooo much better than #2. I jumped up to having 9 measurable follicles from 4 earlier this week. One was >20 and another was >19, so the nurses thought my ER might be as early as Saturday.

So here's the quick funny story from yesterday:

As some of you will remember reading, I was curious about the check-in with the anesthesia team. The nurses told me to hang out and meet with someone to discuss my plan and just "check-in." After my b/w and u/s, the nurse told me that they were really busy with another ER, but that I should come back at 9:30 (about an hour later) for them to "check my airway."

I went across the street to a bagel shop and started wondering what the h*ll they were about to do. I was minorly stressing out. I returned at 9:30, then waited another 30 mins for the nurse. She came and got me and took me back to one of the exam rooms all the way back in the ER/ET part of the clinic. I sat there for another 15 minutes.

FInally, the embryologist came in and this is what happened:

Do you have any history of surgery? No.

Have you ever had difficulty with anesthesia? No.

Do you have any allergies? No.

Lean back your head. Now open your mouth. Say ahh. OK, you're all set. It looks fine.

HUH?? He didn't even look in my mouth. No flashlight and popsicle stick. Nothing. That was my airway check! LOL! DH laughed hysterically when I told him that I spent almost three hours there just to "say ahh."

OK, I went back in again today and that 19 still isn't over 20, so I'm stimming for another day and going back in tomorrow. It looks like I will most likely be triggering tomorrow night and ER on Sunday. Holy crap! I can't believe this is really happening!
