I am 17 1/2 weeks and have been feeling baby move moving frequently since 16 1/2 weeks. DH just felt him move for the first time last night as well. Ultrasound tech said he has big feet - but we didn't get a measurement so I don't know how big he is. I knew I would be feeling baby soon but was surprised how early I did and how early DH is able to as well. Is it possible that I just have a large child on my hands? Or does their size not really vary much at this stage?
I just thought I would have to wait longer, so the frequency as well as the strength at which I feel him surprised me! I am not heavy but do carry my extra weight in my stomach so I am not stick thin.
Re: Does baby size affect when you feel it move?
Well, I have to say that DD was in the 55th percentile in size at 20 weeks, and I felt her at 17 weeks. However, she ended up being HUGE by third tri, and stayed really big. She absolutely filled my abdomen, and when she would move, it was like the earth shifting in my belly. Now that she is out, my insides are all rearranged -- permanently. She completely changed my abdomen.
So yeah, size affects things.
