I am 25 weeks pregnant with twins and my doctor said the same thing. Although she also said it was best to take the classes at the hospital you are delivering at because you will get a tour of LD, NICU, etc. That's where I would start...with the hospital you are delivering at.
I'm using Women Partners in Health and they have a bunch of different classes, but I definitely think that the advice about taking classes at the hospital where you will deliver sounds like a good point. I know I'd probably feel a bit encouraged and less nervous if I'd toured the place and taken some classes in the facility.
