I have been making veges and fruits for my lil guy and I LOVE making him his food! Now its time for me to make some meats...
Chicken, do I do white meat or dark meat? And I just use a blender, is it hard to blend?
What other meats do you guys make? Turkey? ? ?
Re: Making puree meats...
We use chicken, turkey and ground beef.
I usually boil the chicken and turkey in some water, cut it up in small chunks add a little water and olive oil and blend it up. It can be hard to blend, but I just add a little water. With the ground beef, I fry it in a pan, let it cool then blend with a little water and olive oil. DD loves it!!
I haven't done any dark meat, but I don't see why you couldn't.
This is what I did with DS, but he hated it. I found that he preferred little crumbles of meat- like ground chicken, beef or turkey just cooked up. I could get him to eat the pureed meats when I mixed it with a veggie. I am waiting to give DD meat when she can handle the crumbles- this way I don't have to do the extra step and can give it to her when I cook it for the rest of us.
Eww. I don't puree meats. My rule is that if I wouldn't want to eat it, I won't feed it to LO. I just give him tiny pieces or little crumbles like PP that he can mash with his gums. He loves chicken.
I browned some ground turkey for tacos tonight and saved some back for DS. I just pulsed it in the blender a few times with some sweet potato pur?e...still left it a bit chunky like he likes. It was good.
