Pain after 3rd c-sec with tubal

I'm 8 days post c sec with tubal & having sharp burning pains in left side.  It's not incision pain, more internal pain like a cramp you get when running, but low in the area of the uterus.  My Dr said its normal to have with the sec and tubal & to treat with Motrin, but it was so bad last night I was doubled over & in tears.  It felt anything but normal...has anyone else experienced this, if so for how long did it last??

Re: Pain after 3rd c-sec with tubal

  • I am 7 days post op, with a 3rd rcs and tubal.  I have been having slightly odd pain low on the right side that I didn't have with the other c-sections.  I am still taking the motrin and the percocet though so the pain may not be the same as yours.  Did you consider using a stronger pain killer?

  • I'm 4 wks from 3rd c/s and tubal as of tomorrow. The first 1 1/2wks I had sharp pains on my right side if I didn't take the 800mg motrin I was given. So I just made sure I took it on schedule. At about 8days pp I started lighting up at night and only had to take it during the day for the next week. I haven't had anything except tyelnol the last 2 wks though. Sometimes it will hurt if I carry my 21mth old to much but really its gotten a lot better. I will say I was never double over in pain though that might be b/c I kept up with the meds for the first 8 days around the clock.

  • I felt something very similar after my 2nd C-sec and tubal. It was on the left side as well. My Dr. said it was normal, and it went away after a few weeks. But, my pain was more moderate and I wasn't doubled over in tears. If I had severe pain, I probably would have had it checked out.

  • I had that kind of pain after my 2nd c/s, although I did not have a tubal. It was a burning sensation on my right side that would start if I stood up for more than about 30 seconds. It was pretty painful. It eventually went away but was the worst during the time between 1-2 weeks post op. My OB said it was normal and it was nerves trying to regenerate. I'm scared that I will get it again after this baby, especially because I am getting a tubal this time.

  • Thank you for the responses.  I was able to check in on the post, but only finding the time to respond now.  I think my problem was I was letting the medicine wear off.  Once I started taking them around the clock, I got some relief.  I was taking Motrin for the internal pain & Vicodin for the incision pain.  (that's what my dr suggested).   I'm finally feeling better medicine free!  Now I just need to get some sleep!  Lol. Thanks again ladies!
