What's you experience with soap nuts/eco nuts?

We've done Country Save, original Tide, and Rockin' Green, but haven't been pleased with any of them. At this point, I think my stink is due to the summer heat and the higher concentrated pee of a toddler, but it is getting out of hand. I'm going to order some Charlie's, but was wondering if anyone had a good experience with soap nuts or eco nuts. Input?

They work well for us, but if the stronger detergents aren't working for you I'd doubt these will be your winner. Have you tried adding some Calgon or washing soda to your wash to soften the water? Or adding more water to the wash via the detergent chute (assuming HE)?
