Update: Getting FSA to pay for doula

Just wanted to let you know that the receipt for my doula was just approved by Wageworks.  I paid her without having to get reimbursed by adding my Wageworks debit card to PayPal and sending her the money.  I had to pay a 3% processing fee, and even listed that amount as a processing fee on the receipt and the full amount was approved

I sent in a Letter of Medical Necessity signed by my doctor (a form he had to fill out from the website) and a reciept from my doula detailing the dates and descriptions of our meetings.  She just put down my EDD and then the post partum visit was listed as 2 weeks after that.  In fact, all the meetings except for one were in the future.

Just wanted to give some of you hope out there!!  I know many of you said your plans didn't cover it.  My company offers both an HSA and an FSA.  The HSA won't cover it (same administrative company - Wageworks), but the FSA will.

We were able to get a note from our OB acknowledging our want for a doula, and we paid her via our FSA debit card (by taking the money out from ATM and getting a receipt from her).  Yay!

Yay for you!  I had no idea you could get cash off of it.  Interesting.
