Stupid Pacifier Names?

I feel like I've heard a lot of dumb made-up words for "pacifier", but now I can't remember any of them.  I want to have some on hand to call the thing to amuse myself.  Any ideas?

Re: Stupid Pacifier Names?

  • Wub-a-nub. I think it's a brand of paci that has a little stupid stuffed animal thing attached to it. All I know is that my mommy friends (gag) are constantly searching for the wubby (double gag).

    I call them plugs. Lol.

  • We call it a "paci" at our house, which is probably kind of dumb. Stick out tongue But I prefer it to bink or binky. Seems like I've also heard Nuk (which I think is a brand?).

Here's a funny (and ridiculously extensive!) list I found: https://www.babycenter.com/0_160-pet-names-for-the-pacifier_3659111.bc.

  • Not a made up word, but my cousin called her son's pacifier "cork".  Makes as much sense as any other name; it actually describes the function of it!

Those are so ugly.  I mean, it's a cute idea, but there is a stuffed animal hanging from your child's mouth.

  • We always just called it a pacifier. Luckily, Ada spit it out at about 3 months and that was the end of that. We didn't need to refer to it at all anymore. I'm not a fan of the stuffed animal ones or the ones with mustaches...

Yes, they definitely look odd, but they are awesome if your baby takes a pacifier!  The stuffed animal helps the pacifier stay in LO's mouth, and if it does fall out, it's easier for baby to find and put back in.  It's a lifesaver so you're not having to get up 37 times a night to put the pacifier back in LO's mouth.

DS dropped the "paci" part of pacifier and called them "fiers".

I too judged until we drove to my parents' reaching back to replace the pacifier every ten minutes. We LOVE his WubbaNub - he holds onto it and keeps it in place now. We have the frog, so we call that one the Froggy.

Otherwise, we call it bink, binky, paci, plug, and sucky-thing.

  • When I was little, I called mine a "Loo-loo."

I hold on so hard and pray that I won't say something wrong. I look at the stars and dream that the universe was ours.
