Private Practice or Harvard Vanguard?

I first used Harvard Vanguard because they are right across the street from me and I needed to update my contacts. Then I needed to get a physical and said to myself,  " It is mighty convenient, so why not?". Once we got pregnant, I figured convenience should come first again. So far so good. Our insurance is Harvard Pilgrim and besides how ridiculous those blood tests cost, we have not had any complaints.

Now comes the time to start choosing a pediatrician. I am originally from Miami,Fl and my family was all about private practice doctors- pediatrician, OBGYN, Dental, Optometrist, and physician. I want to make sure that convenience has not replaced better care. I would like to know if certain private practices are cheaper, offer better care, and have an advantage I am not made aware of in comparison to Harvard Vanguard. If so, please name a private practice you recommend. Thank you!

Which Harvard Vanguard? The Pediatricians at the Watertown office are top notch! I highly recommend Dr. Thayer there. The Somerville office is also amazing.
