Gag reflex

My son has been throwing up or spitting up a bunch this last week, and I don't know what to do for him. He had his 6 month check up last Tuesday, and he received the Rotavirus oral vaccine for the first time (he didn't get it at his 2 or 4 month check-ups because of an intestinal issue and surgeries he had then). Ever since coming home from that appointment, he's been spitting up his milk, his Tri-Vi-Sol vitamins, and the baby ibuprofen I tried giving him once. Before the apponitment, he hardly ever spit up his milk, and never during his vitamins. We started him on rice cereal 2 days before his 6 month check-up, and he was fine with that before the check up. Now, he starts gagging sometimes just after a bite or 2 (and I've tried everything from super runny to semi-thick). Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else's child has gagged on anything and spit up like this before. Most of the time, his spit/throw up isn't projectile, but it has been a time or 2. I called our pediatrician's office yesterday, and the nurse said since he's keeping most of his food down, he's his normal happy self, and he's not dehydrated, then we don't need to worry yet. But if he keeps this up for the rest of the week, we're supposed to call again. So...am I just doing a horrible job of feeding him solids, or do you think it's the oral Rotavirus? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated, as I am at a loss!!
