Babywise with Preemies

Our boys are now 9 weeks old but were born at 35w6d.  I know that they will do most things at their adjusted age for the first year but I am really wanting to start working on the Babywise schedule (Eat, Activity, Sleep, Your Time).  Does anyone have any suggestions on when to start this considering the babies were early?  Right now they sleep one 6 hour stretch at night, either something like 9pm-3am or 11pm-5am.  They eat 3 1/2 oz every 3 hours during the day.  Their naps are still pretty sporatic during the day but I'm working on that, by following the EASY schedule.  I just don't know if it's too early to start the night stuff considering they are "adjusted", only 5 weeks.  Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

  • We started with the EASY method since the very beginning & it worked well for us. During the night time feedings though, they would eat, get burped, changed, & back down to sleep. They never had a problem going to sleep on thier own. They were born at 36 weeks & never had an adjusted age. They would eat every 3-4 hours.

  • My girls were 8 weeks early and while we followed EASY once they were past their due date (before that they  just slept all the time), I didn't start the nighttime stuff until they were 8 weeks adjusted.  If yours are going 6 hour stretches at night, I would be happy with that and work on good naps during the day.
