I haven't had my first appt yet so not sure if we'll be going the VBAC route or RCS. I'm just curious on when RCS usually scheduled for? I was hearing at 39 weeks a lot. Also what happens if you go into labor before your scheduled date?
My OB schedules RCS in the 39th week. They said their goal is for me not to go into labor at all.
I was nervous because with DS1 my water broke at 38 weeks. My OB said if I went into labor to just call and tell them I was on my way to the hospital and it would be treated as an emergency C/S.

My office schedules them in the 39th week. I think thats pretty typical. Mine is at 39w exactly. If I go into labor before that date my OB said he would "see how I do" with labor (I never progressed past 4cm with my first) before rushing me into the operating room.
Unfortunately for me 39 weeks falls on a Saturday and my hospital will not schedule them for a weekend and will not schedule them even a day before 39 weeks. So mine is scheduled for 39 weeks and 2 days. DS was 10 days late so they are not at all worried about me going into labor before hand but said if I did I would just go in and straight to the cs.
They usually want you to go in your 39th week to avoid going into labor and having an emergency Csection.
My due date is 10/31 At my last appt we put it on my OB's books that I want 10/25 for my RCS date. I can call hospital on August 1st to put it on the books with them.

Week 39, usually. Both of my RCSs have been/will be 38w6d.
If you go into labor, they'll usually just do your c/s right away. This happened to a friend of mine this winter, no big deal.
This. My water broke a few days before my scheduled RCS with DS (set for 39w2d). I didn't dally, but I took time to shower and finish packing before I went to the hospital, and then it took about three hours for them to test to make sure my water had really broken (they get a lot of false alarms) and assemble the surgical team. During that time I was having contractions, but there was no need to do the surgery immediately. It was much more relaxing than my first c/s with DD, which was a true emergency
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
Mine was scheduled two days before my due date. My Dr. said most OB's schedule them at 39 weeks b/c of new research saying that's better than doing them earlier.
I had labor pains a few days before, and then again the night before. Both times, they went away. But, they weren't BH - they were real labor.
