Re: night feeding

  • Do you normally wake her up to feed? I would just let her sleep and then feed her when she wakes. Around 3 months (actual) is when my DD started to sleep longer. She now goes down between 7:30/8 and sleep til 3:30-5:00.

  • I would probably just feed her if she wakes even if she's only taking a few oz. She will finally figure out that she doesn't really need to feed and just sleep through the night. Good luck.

  • I bet she will drop it on her own in the next few weeks.  Id definitely continue to give her that feeding if she is waking for it though.

Are you feeding on demand throughout the day too?  We worked closely with our pedi to move to an on demand schedule for day and nighttime feeding soon after her discharge and she started sleeping through the night within 5-6 weeks (8-9 weeks adjusted) of being home, mostly because she was cluster feeding in the evenings.

  • yes i'm feeding on demand throughout the day. i won't let her go more than 4 hours, but that is a very RARE occurance.

  • We are going through something similar.  She is not taking a full bottle, but still seems to want something.  I plan on still giving her what she wants until she shows more signs of not needing it any more.
