Single stroller that can become double?

I know there are a few and I'm trying to come up with a list so I can do all the research before I make a decision.

My thought is that it makes sense to get a single stroller that can eventually become a double by buying a second seat when our next baby comes along. To me that makes more sense that buying a single now and then having to buy another double stroller when #2 comes along. Anything I'm not thinking of with this thought process? Thanks! Smile

  • You could try the Britax B-ready.  The free ride event is currently going on, so you could get a free carseat with it.

  • The Britax B-Ready can. That's what we have and love it. I didn't plan on using it as a double but I ended up prego again so I guess its a good thing we got it :] Also they have their Free Ride event where you can get the second seat, bassinet or car seat free but I'm not sure if its still going on. Also if you have a Buy Buy Baby around they always have a great selection of strollers so you can go there and ask an associate and also try them out!

  • We are getting the B Ready for this exact reason!

  • There are a few, depending on what style you like. PPs already mentioned the City Select and the B-Ready. Here's what I can remember off the top of my head:

    • All the Phil & Ted's, except the Smart and Sub4
    • Bumbleride Indy (can take a front jump seat)
    • iCandy Apple and Pear
    • UppaBaby Vista
    • Peg Perego Skate
    • Valco Baby (front jump seat)

That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure there are more.

  • I read somewhere that Orbit have come put with a double kit for their stroller and then there is also the bugaboo donkey. It depends how much you want to spend.

  • iCandy Peach to Blossom (Apple was discontinued in the US)

Bugaboo Donkey (only side by side in the group)

Orbit G2 (double conversion coming this fall)

    Baby Jogger City Select

UPPAbaby Vista (not a true double with full features)

Mutsy 4Rider (not a true double with full features & not sure if 2nd seat is still sold in US)

Phil & Teds strollers (not personally a fan)

Britax B-Ready (not personally a fan)

  • I have the bugaboo donkey and I love it. I personally don't like the britax and ones like it because I feel like its unfair for one child to be staring at the back of the stroller. I feel like if I put one of my kids in that double stroller like Phil and teds, one gets the "good" seat and one gets the "bad" seat. That's why i like the donkey. Both kids get the same view. Plus the donkey seats can face you or face out and they can also be a bassinet. I love it!
