Any non-walkers??

C will stand indepedently and take 4-5 steps for us but she doesn't really show a desire to walk unless we provoke her. She does this knee walking thing at school that everyone thinks is hilarious.

She was a late crawler and late to pulling up so I'm not super worried, just wondering how many others there are.

  • DD only walks when she's holding our hands or pushing a walker toy. I'm pretty sure she could walk independently, but she gets nervous when we try to let go of her hand and sits down.

  • Ditto to all of the above.  She seems scared but she gets a wee bit braver every day.  I'm thankful she wasn't an early walker but now I'm ready to get the show on the road!

  • Here!  No independent standing or walking by holding our hands.  She is trying to stand from a sitting position, but it hasn't happened yet.  DS didn't walk until 15 months, so I am assuming DD will probably be the same (they are about on the same track for rolling, sitting, and crawling).

  • Yup!  DD will cruise, walk holding onto a push-toy or one of our hands well, and has taken a couple of steps by herself, but I just don't think she has the confidence to go farther/keep trying yet.  I'm not worried.  She crawled and pulled up at 8 months and is suuuuuper fast and efficient that way so she uses what works.  She'll get the hang of it eventually, no worries here.  DS was 15 months old before he walked independently.

  • DD won't even cruise yet.  She pulls up to standing, scoots on her butt and in the past week has finally figured out a full crawl.  We weren't worried about the not crawling since she did the butt scoot thing.  I can see the wheels turning in her head though, she moves her feet when standing, she just needs to get brave enough to try!

  • DS walks while holding my hand and he stands by himself.  He's all over the house with the walker toy and cruises along the furniture.  I hope he walks independently soon... he's getting too heavy to carry!

  • E doesn't walk yet. She won't stand on her own and hasn't taken any steps without holding our hands. She just started pulling up on furniture a few weeks ago and she has never really crawled. A few weeks before her birthday she started army crawling and is doing that all the time. She will get up on her knees when she stops moving but as soon as she wants to move again she plops down on her tummy.

  • DS only started crawling right before his first birthday. In the past few weeks he has started pulling up and will cruise furniture but makes no attempt at walking. He will take a few wobbly steps if we hold his hands, but I think he gets scared, and just sits down.

  • My little guy isn't walking yet or standing independently.  He will push a push toy and cruises all over the place but he's terrified to let go.  He's been in pt since he was 5 months old because he was born at 32 weeks, and his therapist isn't woried about it so I try not to worry about it.
