Napping Help!

My DD hates napping.  I try putting her down when I see her tired cues.   I will rock her until drowsy and then try putting her in her crib.  She wakes right up and starts to play.  If I try rocking her again, she is on to me, and thrashes and cries because I am trying to put her to sleep.  So, I will try putting her back in her crib and she stops crying and plays.  Eventually I give up and have an overtired baby.  I have tried putting her down after being up 1 hr, 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs, etc since some say when you see the tired cues the baby is already overtired.  Sometimes I let her sleep while I am holding her but she only sleeps like 30 min then (I think she gets hot).  Sleeping is also a no go in the Moby anymore.  Thankfully she sleeps well at night.  Any advice?

Re: Napping Help!

  • DD was done with the Moby a little bit younger than your LO. 2-3 monthsish she also napped in her swing, so you could try that. I got an Ergo and since she turned 4 months she ONLY naps in the Ergo, or the car. It's not so bad now because I can do a back carry in the Ergo and it's easier to get things done.

I put a toddler mattress on the floor, then nurse to sleep and then I can get up.  It's been the easiest and fastest way with both boys.  It may bee worth a try.  GL!
