I'm stuck on the name Jolea, but I can't quite find a perfect middle name. So far I like Jolea Elise and Jolea Kate.

My middle name is Lynn, but I don't think I will pass it down. I've never been to fond of my middle name, I've always thought it was so common. Help?

Jolea = jo-lee-uh

Jolie = jo-lee

Me too...I kept reading it in my head jo-lee-uh. I guess I see Jolie since the word lea is pronounced lee. Either way, I very much dislike it.

IMO you are setting her up to have to constantly correct people on how to pronounce her name if you spell it Jolea. If you want to call her Jo-lee just spell it Jolie. Giving children names with alternate spellings on common names just encourages spelling issues and criticism.

THIS!  I don't understand changing the spelling to be different if all that is going to happen will be people all throughout her life mispronouncing and misspelling her name.  I think if it is mean to be pronounced jo-lee, please spell it Jolie...otherwise, spelling it as Jolea makes me pronounce it Jo-lee-uh

Personally, I've never met a Jolie. Where I am from, the spelling is Jolea. JoLea to be exact. I never thought about the other pronunciation. I will consider that though.
