Pneumovax?

So DS1 is neutropenic and his pneuomoccal antibodies are very low.  So they want us to get him the Pnuemovax vaccine and retest in 8 weeks to see if his immune system responds to it.

Anyone else get their child this?  Were there any side effects?

Immunology had M's pedi give her that because her titers were low.  I don't remember because some were low and some where just not there at all.  But after we did it and retested she showed a response.

I've had it done on me. Just had the pneumovax and two months later had a blood draw. It was like the flu shot, no adverse effects. I had i8 sinus infections in 3 months and my allergist wanted to see my immune response.
