My ds cried when I dropped him off this morning

He hasn't done this in over a year. He loves this place. But this morning he was just wailing, I felt so sad. This isn't normal for him. I called about 30 minutes after I dropped him off and they said he was doing better but he was still quite upset. They told me to call back at 9:00 am after he has transitioned into his preschool room for the morning.

Re: My ds cried when I dropped him off this morning

  • I called and they said he is doing better now. Up until he moved into his preschool room they said all he wanted was to be held. Very strange.

  • Just like adults, kids have their off days, too.
  • I am glad he is doing better now.  Ds usually gets like that when he doesn't feel well.  Did he sleep well?  Has he been sick?  Maybe it is just an off day.  Hope it doesn't happen again tomorrow!
  • Poor little guy....and poor mommy!!  That has got to be rough leaving him when he is crying.  I am sure that he will be ok once he gets into his routine for the day.
  • Yeah, my initial thoughts were that he is getting sick. My dad is picking up in about 30 minutes, thank goodness.
  • I have no idea what is going on with my ds, but when my dad picked him up today, which he typically does once a week, ds just burst into tears crying for me. He is okay now, this has been a really hard day for me.
  • Man, those are the worst days.  Could it be due to the transition to a new room or something like that?

  • No he is in the same room he has always been in. When I spoke of transition, I drop him off to an early drop off program before preschool because preschool doesn't start until 9:00 am, and I have to be at work before then.

All I can think of is that he is getting sick.
