moby vs. woven wrap

what is the difference? just the material, one stretchy and one not so much, or the overall shape/length too? LO has ridiculously sensitive skin, and gets lines on his legs sometimes in the moby,(and on him, they take about a week to fade away) and it is stretchy; I am worried he would be really torn up from a woven wrap with no give to it. what is your experience?

hmmm... I don't have any experience with marks like that on my LO. 

I did feel like the marks were worse with the moby because it stretched where her weight was - ie her bum - while the ends sort of held her. Whereas the woven gives more overall support - so they don't sag if you wrap properly. Other than that, they are more versatile - you can do back carries and easier hip carries with a woven than with a moby, IMO. 

What about something like an Ergo? That has a nice pocket for LO's bum and is a bit more padded - I'm not familiar with other brands of those type of backpack carriers, perhaps some other ladies could chime in.

Woven wraps have give on the bias, not the vertical or horizontal. So while they are not stretchy like a Moby, they do have a smidge of stretch to allow for getting a perfect, snug fit. Woven wraps are much more breathable, come in more lengths (a Moby is a very long wrap), more supportive/secure, and you can do more with them (like back carries).
