My babe has a TON of wax in one ear. Its packed in the canal, so its not anything I could just clean with a washcloth. I know I can't stick anything in there to get it out, but is there anything I can do? Do I leave it alone? I don't want it to get worse, or am I just worried about nothing?
Thanks!

Re: Earwax?
Don't do this! We have been taking DD to a Ear specialist because she did not pass her newborn hearing test. She was so clogged with wax we had to go back 3 times to remove it all. Our pedi and ear specialist told me to never let her ears fill up with water. They suggested we start using Debrox ear drops once a week. The next morning you will be able to just wipe all the wax out with a wash cloth. It pushes it right out of the ear canal.
I'm also scared to do this because both DH and I had chronic ear infections as children. I got tubes, he didn't. Anyway, I've heard recent reserach says water in the ears causes it. I'm so scared to put water near Adeline's ears!
Adeline's earwax will literally DRIP out of her ears sometimes. Like in a DROP formation.
I do this too. I may or may not be guilty of getting a perverse pleasure from picking my kids nose and ear wax.
