1-2cm and 80% effaced- how long do I have?

I'm 35w2d and at my OB aptmt they did my 1st internal. I'm 1-2cm and 80% effaced. No pains, except for some bad back pain a couple days ago. With DS, I was 1-2 cm for a couple of weeks and had to be induced. But I don't ever remember the cervix being soft- I was 50% effaced at induction.

How long do you think I have?

You can stay dilated and effaced for weeks at a time. There is nothing that says you'll deliver in the next few hours or weeks. I've been walking around at 6cm for 9 weeks.

At 36 weeks I was 3 cm and 80%.  I went into my OB not knowing this.  I was just a lot more uncomfortable then normal and emotionally I was done after being on bed rest for 12 weeks.  So I was going in to beg him to take the babies.  He ended up doing my c-section later that day.  I would think that at the point you are at you don't have a lot of time, but you never know.

At 35 weeks I was 4 cm, at 36 weeks I was 5 cm, at 37 weeks I was 6 cm and my OB decided to induce. Those babies will come when they are ready!

I've been at 3 cm for 5 weeks now. No telling with these things. GL though and congrats to making it to 35 weeks already.

i was 1-2cm/60% from 33 wks on. I started having regular ctx's & lost mucus plug @ 36wks when i went into labor  i was 3-4cm/80% when i checked into hospital.
