Oldest SS kidney stones again :(

Well, DH was on his way to meet me for lunch today when BM called him and said she had to take oldest SS to the ER on Saturday for vomiting and pain. So nice of her to call or text us that in a timely manner- she is at least obligated to tell us within 24 hours which she did not. I'm not sure why she didn't let us know usually she calls on the way to the ER but they were supposed to be in NY this weekend at some point so I'm not sure what is up with that because it was our weekend and she switched us for that reason.

 Anyway, his urologist was on call at the time luckily so he was the one to actually see him and sure enough he has more stones (3rd time now in 2 years). He has never passed a stone on his own and has had to have surgery 2x now plus before the stones were discovered the first time a few months after he had an exploratory bladder surgery because of repeated blood in his urine and at the time the stones weren't showing up on xray/mri. I'm not sure how many stones he has this time but we know it's more than 1 from what BM said to DH. She called to say he has an appointment w/ the urologist today and said he told her on Saturday that if it didn't look like the stones have moved or basically if there was no change they would be admitting him today. So we are waiting on a call back from her after the appointment. Please keep SS in your thoughts/prayers if you pray and I really hope we don't have another surgery coming up.

    poor SS, that sounds rough :( and shame on BM for not keeping you guys in the loop about SS being in the ER, I would be pretty mad about that.

    DH called BM again to check on SS and apparently he misunderstood her originally. SS isn't going back to the urologist until Wed (not today) and at that time they will determine if they are admitting him. He's on anti-nausea and pain meds right now.

    I've had kidney stones 1-3 times a yr since I was around 14 everyone in my grandmas side of the family has them. For me finding that lemon juice is a miracle was life saving. When the pain starts take 8oz of lemon juice straight then 2-3oz every hr until pain subsides. Do not allow him to drink cranberry or AZO standard cranberry pills for me they make it worse the tiny seed scrubbing the inside of kidneys and bladder can aggravate and cause them to spasm. I tried special diets stressing less but genetics always take over in the end and I ended up with them. I've had 2 kidney stones this pregnancy with no pain meds the lemon juice method worked for me. It is at least worth a try. 

    Hope he finds the relief he needs they are awful no one can understand unless they have had them.
