Like the 4mos wakeful period? I need to know this will end. The girls have been really relaxed babies and not at all lots of crying. Suddenly they have decided to cry at every little thing that doesn't go their way. And they are drama queens and if they are sitting they flop forward and hit their head on the ground - which really hurts them.
They aren't sick - I actually took them in for an ear check...I really think it's the realization that they can get what they want by crying.
Re: Is there such a thing as a 9 mos crying period?
If the crying comes up when they want/need something and promptly stops once their wants are fulfilled, yes - it's probable.
We were very regulated with our two singles - always fed on schedules (never on demand), always slept/napped them on schedules regardless of being tired, let them cry it out, etc, and we taught them early signing - they very rarely cried over anything at all unless they were hurt or sick. But after many years in childcare facilities and as a nanny, I've seen the cry-for-fulfillment act start as early as 7 months - and it can last a life time lol
Just keep a close watch - you never want to assume that a change is strictly behavioural and miss warning signs of something worse!
