2) Where in the process are you?
waiting 9 months
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?
not adoption related, but I will be having the lap band procedure done soon. I finally completed all of my pre-op requirements and the physician signed off the paper work to be sent to my insurance. It's a long process, so I'm so excited to be this close to surgery. As soon as insurance agrees I have a crazy two week liquid diet... not looking forward to that.
4) Most encouraging moment last week?
I'm trying to think of something, but honestly I've been pretty down as far as the waiting goes.
5) Biggest challenge of this week?
Waiting, not dwelling on redoing our profile book, or if we are with the right agency
6) Anything else you want to share?
I have really enjoyed the regular parent-to-be questions. Thanks jiliianmb!
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have?
I already have two teenage step-kids. We want one more child.
1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? And what age(s)? International from Russia, 2 y.o boy.
2) Where in the process are you? We are making our first (of three) trip on SATURDAY!!!!!!! So many butterflies in my stomach!
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?Got LO's room almost completed, redesigned my bog so it is all ready to showcase the pictures we get when we meet our son. And just general travel stuff (mostly) done.
4) Most encouraging moment last week? Yesterday at church a lady invited people to pray a blessing over us as we prepare to travel. About 30 people came! I was shocked. It was so nice to see how many people care for us.
5) Biggest challenge of this week? I have not been nervous about travel yet, but suddenly I have this feeling like I am forgetting something and it is starting to make me nervous. I just have to stay on top of the fear and know that everything will be okay.
6) Anything else you want to share? Thanks for participating in the parent-to-be questions yesterday. It was so much fun to read your responses. I hope the trend continues!
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have? I think 4 kids, although part of me would like to have 2 and then wait until they were both in school for the next ones In a perfect world I think we would complete this adoption and then jump right back into TTC. But we'll see how things go; we might need some more time to adjust to a family of 3 before TTC again (and dealing with all the emotions that come along with that).TTC September 2010 thru October 2011

Domestic infant 2) Where in the process are you?Very early on, trying to choose an agency 3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate? We will be attending our first agency information session tomorrow evening! 4) Most encouraging moment last week? Not adoption related but my DS has had a fever since last Tuesday:( it makes me feel so helpless when he is sick. 6) Anything else you want to share?Nothing else
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have?
2
Pregnancy #2: Sucess! DS born 8-30-10
We always wanted 2. Now, we might have to stop at 1 due to financial considerations.
1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? And what age(s)? We are currently looking into domestic public adoption (CAS) and domestic private adoption. We would like a 1-5 yr old. Preferably a toddler.
2) Where in the process are you? We've decided to stop TTC entirely and focus on preparing to adopt. We are trying to learn as much as possible before we start the process. We made our timeline - eliminate debt and save money for the next two years. Start the adoption process in 1-2 years. (I hope it's okay that I post here even though we aren't in the process yet).
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate? Just the fact that we have decided to adopt, I guess.
4) Most encouraging moment last week? That H and I were on the exact same page about our TTTC, meds, procedures and adoption. It was a great conversation and I am so relieved that we are taking this path instead.
5) Biggest challenge of this week? Getting the courage to bring up the fact that I don't want to TTC anymore. Realizing that I don't want to go any further with meds and procedures kind of made me feel like a coward.
6) Anything else you want to share? I am so happy to have found this board and I really look forward to sharing in your journeys. It's been a very difficult transition for me (emotionally).
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have? I want one for now. Once I have that, I will decide how I feel about a second. No more than two though.1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? And what age(s)?
foster/adopt, ages 0-12
2) Where in the process are you?
our (adoption ready) forever kids moved in June 30, we hope for all legal paperwork to be final by February
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?
The kids were already signed up for stay-camp last week. They had a great time and did very well while gone. I was able to finish up T's room (furniture wise), back to school shop, have lunch with friends, etc.
4) Most encouraging moment last week?
Seeing the big smiles on their face when we picked them up Friday. They had the sparkle in their eyes that said, "yay, my parents are here and I love them so much!"
5) Biggest challenge of this week?
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have?Finding a balance between letting the kids "chill out" b/c school starts in four weeks, but not letting them game/watch tv/etc too much.
Also, we found out today that our wonderful DSS worker is leaving the county. We've been so impressed with her and the over system b/c of her. It's a big loss and not at a very good time for us.
6) Anything else you want to share?
We feel blessed in God's plan and continue to pray for his will and support.
two for now, we will revaluate in the next two years and may be interested in continuing to foster and/or adopt a younger child
1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? And what age(s)?
Domestic infant adoption
2) Where in the process are you?
Waiting 3 months
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?
Not really
4) Most encouraging moment last week?
Ordered nursery bedding this past week! (Winnie the Pooh)
5) Biggest challenge of this week?
Waiting
6) Anything else you want to share?
Nope!
7) QOTW: How many kids do you hope to have?
DH & I are both from big families so we always assumed we would have lots of kids. Mother Nature had other plans. We're 37 & 38 waiting to adopt our first, so we're going to kind of take it by ear. I'd love to have at least 2.
