flying with two babes

we are going to my sister in laws wedding next month. FS will be 7mo and DD will be 4. any tips for the flight? I planned to wear one as long as they will stand it, and feed on takeoff so their ears will pop, but i was hoping some of you who have flown with little ones would have some more helpful tips :) TIA

Re: flying with two babes

  • Are you alone with them or do you have another adult along? I've done both.

    General tips:

-Pack bags within a bag. We pack a backpack with everything, changes of clothes, etc. Within the backpack we have ziplock bags for individual diaper changes (just enough for one change in the airplane bathroom) and then extra diaper stuff to restock the ziplock if needed. We also have a small tote bag with toys, books and snacks. We pull that out of the bigger bag and put the big bag up above and just have the smaller bag to pull from during the flight.

-Bring toys that are interesting to both kids, you don't want to be managing disputes about who gets what toy mid-flight. Snacks that take a while to eat are good (think yogurt melts vs. squeeze yogurt). I like take and toss sippy cups so I can get them some water on the flight, or even juice and it won't spill.

That's all I've got for now. Good luck.

  • Well I haven't done it with 2 yet, but will next summer for my sister's wedding.  In the past with DS we have also brought different "bags" of toys and snacks.  I also bought a few new toys to pull out when DS was bored or needed something different.  Good luck!
