Babies: 3 - 6 Months

when to transition...

Re: when to transition...

  • Whenever you feel they're ready.  Some babies are fine sleeping in the crib from day 1.  Others need more time.  You could always give it a try and see how they do.

  • We transitioned when dd was 3.5 months.  She was uncomfortable in the rnp and wanted more room.  It was a tough couple of nights, but it does get better!

We did it at about 3.5 months and it was pretty much a non-event at our house. We kept the swaddle and did all naps and nights with no "rescues" to the RnP or our bed. I think one night was rough and then it was fine.
