Whenever you feel they're ready. Some babies are fine sleeping in the crib from day 1. Others need more time. You could always give it a try and see how they do.
We transitioned when dd was 3.5 months. She was uncomfortable in the rnp and wanted more room. It was a tough couple of nights, but it does get better!

We did it at about 3.5 months and it was pretty much a non-event at our house. We kept the swaddle and did all naps and nights with no "rescues" to the RnP or our bed. I think one night was rough and then it was fine.
Married 08.06 Started TTC 05.08 Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH DH: perfect 1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p 2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
