We are team green and are just starting to discuss names. We didn't settle on DD's name until she was born and probably won't this time either, but I'd like to get some more ideas and then narrow down to a top 3-5 for each.
DD is Elaina Rose (nn Lainey) and I LOVE her name. But our tastes are kind of all over the place. I want a name that will be cute on a kid, but also age well and look good on college and job applications.
Girl names:
Alice
Tessa
Evelyn
Payson
Aspen
Boy names:
Vincent (family name)
Benjamin
Maxwell
Samuel
Jackson (although I'm leaning away from this because I feel like its becoming too popular)
Opinions on the names I have? Other suggestions? Last name is short and sounds like "ball". Middle names are completely up in the air. For a girl I would like to use Rae (DH is Ray) but its not set in stone. Boys if we don't use Vincent as a first name it could possibly be the middle name, but again, not set in stone.
Re: Team green, opinions on lists are appreciated :)
I love Evelyn and Benjamin...my top picks! Good luck...names are so hard. I've found boys to be the worst! It's so daunting!
Alice - lovely, classic
Tessa - nice, just a bit boring for me
Evelyn - beautiful (my favorite on your list)
Payson - I hate it. It seems a bit masculine and immature.
Aspen - I dislike this one. My taste is tainted on this name though because there is a "gentlemen's" club in the city that always advertised their star dancer, "Aspen Reign."
-------
Vincent - nice, strong name
Benjamin - great classic
Maxwell - Like
Samuel - nice, just a little boring
Jackson - it's not getting too popular, it is too popular.
Love Alice and Tessa (they are both on my list) don't like any of your boy names, but I confess, I actually only have one boy name I like!
(Also team green here.)
I love Alice and Tessa (dd is Tess ) Payson reminds me of Paisley which I really dislike for some reason. Aspen is ok- Evelyn is nice but a bit boring to me.
I really like all your boy names. DS is Jackson and it is hugely popular where I live. He is 6 and I never thought it would get so popular back then. I still love it though and for some reason having a popular boys name doesn't bother me half as much as it would for the girls...
Love Vincent
Payson--sounds made up
Aspen--not very feminine
I like Tessa
Alice-I like Alice, but DH is set against it because he has a moody aunt Alice.
Tessa-I like Tessa too, but I don't feel it ages well.
Evelyn-Another like! I think this one ages well and is cute on a little girl.
Payson-Not my style...I don't think I've ever heard it before though...where does it come from?
Aspen-It's not my style but it's okay.
Boy names:
Vincent (family name)-I think it's a great name.
Benjamin-We had Benjamin on our long list for our first LO. Good Name!
Maxwell-I'm not fond of Maxwell (DH balks at it because of the coffee) I prefer Maximus, but I love the nn Max!
Samuel-Not my style but nothing wrong with it.
Jackson-It is popular, but it's a nice name.
Good Luck!
All of this. Except the stripper thing...though just hearing it seems completely right for that name.
My personal preferences:
Alice - it's a good name, but NMS
Tessa - absolutely love
Evelyn - okay, again NMS
Payson - don't like
Aspen - don't like
Vincent - i like it with an Italian last name only
Benjamen - love
Maxwell - love
Samuel - good, classic name
Jackson - I like it
Teresa Rae (Tessa)
Alice Rae
I like Evelyn too, but not paired with sister Elaina.
I like Vincent best of the boys because it is underused. Jackson is too popular for me.
All of the girl names are fine except Payson. I like Evelyn the best.
And all of the boy names are nice as well. Samuel is my favorite (obviously... see siggy).
Alice - very nice!
Tessa - fine!
Evelyn - my favorite!
Payson - I've never seen this before? Is this an actual name?
Aspen - I don't think this would age well at all.
Boy names:
Vincent (family name) - good!
Benjamin- nice!
Maxwell - My favorite!
Samuel - love!
Jackson (although I'm leaning away from this because I feel like its becoming too popular) - It is really popular. I would scratch this one off.
Overall, your boys names are very nice! The girls need a little work, though.
Girls - Alice or Tessa (really not a fan of Payson or Aspen)
Boys - love Benjamin, Maxwell, or Samuel. You're right about Jackson, cute but way over done these days.
Proud Mama to cleft cutie
I love the name Tessa - we'd be using it if it didn't sound so awful with our last name! I also like Evelyn and strongly dislike both Payson & Aspen.
I love the names Benjamin & Max but the only one I'd recommend avoiding is Jackson for the popularity reason you mentioned.
Girl:
I think Evelyn Rae is super cute (and I love the nn Evie)
Boy:
I like both Benjamin and Maxwell.
Girl Names
Love- Aspen and Evelyn (though I do feel it is too popular for my tastes)
Like- Alice, prefer Alison. I think Tessa is nice but nms
Hate- Payson
Boys
Love- Vincent (I especially love that it's a family name), Benjamin (I prefer Bennet, a similar suggestion), and Maxwell
Like- Samuel but again, feel it's too popular
Hate- Jackson. Although I do really like Jack as a first name on it's own.
I'm not crazy about your girl option, but I'd go with Tessa
Benjamin is my fave from the boy list, Samuel is second
I think Tessa would be a great sister to Elaina. I also like Alice and Evelyn. Aspen is okay, but doesn't really seem to go with Elaina, if you care about that sort of thing. I don't know wth a Payson is.
Of the boys, I like Benjamin and Maxwell. Jackson is boring at this point.
Girls: I like Alice, Tessa and Evelyn.
Boys: I like Vincent and Samuel.
Girl names:
Alice Cute
Tessa i really like
Evelyn not my fav
Payson Definitly not
Aspen NMS
Boy names:
Vincent (family name) nice
Benjamin cute
Maxwell nms but not terrible
Samuel nice
Jackson (although I'm leaning away from this because I feel like its becoming too popular) I like it
Alice love
Tessa okay
Evelyn okay
Payson dislike
Aspen indifferent
Vincent (family name) okay
Benjamin love
Maxwell okay
Samuel love
Jackson (although I'm leaning away from this because I feel like its becoming too popular) indifferent
I like Evelyn with your DD's name, and also Alice. Eve or Evie would be cute nn for Evelyn.
I love all your boy names except for Maxwell. Reminds me of the coffee.
