So how did the porchetta turn out? Have you even made it yet? (I can't remember when your anniversary is.)

    Our anniversary is on the 16th.  But I'll be in working from on off our other offices so won't be home with DH that day.  :(

    I was planning on making it on Saturday, but got so busy this week haven't been able to get the butcher to get a good Pork Shoulder with crackling.  I had plans to give the butcher the spices and ask them to prepare and season it and I'd pick it up, but like I said, that didn't happen.  I am going to try this afternoon and hopefully get it seasoned overnight and cook it tomorrow.  Otherwise I don't have a plan.  I feel really bad.  He has been so good, and he has something planned for me but I don't know what yet.

     It's been such a long and hard week, both work wise, physically, and emotionally. 

    I know DH is not going to be disappointed if I can't pull something out my hat, but I will sure feel like I let him down.

    I'll let you know how it goes.

    If you can find an Italian butcher, I'm sure s/he could do it for you.

    Or, if you want to spend the money, call La Porchetta in NYC and have them ship you a roast that you only have to reheat! Or heck-- call the place back home and see if they'll ship you one.

    GL! I'm sure whatever you do, though, your DH will love it.
