So not a dad i was just lurking here since i have nothing better to do this morning, but we are expecting our first baby and for fathers day i bought him a nice flask, had in engraved and filled it with his fav. spiced rum and made it from the baby. He loved it and had a great time showing it off and offering people a celebration drink. Not sure if you are drinkers but he might like it.
Yeah, the last thing I would want is a gift during that time in the hospital. My sole focus will be on my wife and baby Jacob. I really don't think you realize how men are during that time.
I imagine that I will be focused like I am at work........
As well, won't you have a lot going on.....like labor, delivery, taking care of a newborn?????
Seriously, no. When you are in labor the last thing on your mind will be "ok, time to give my husband his gift..." This is a horrible idea. Save it until you get home.
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
This is about right on par for how you ladies think when you are well into the last months of being pego. My wife seems to have left her mind and senses somewhere else over the last few weeks.
I would think that there are more important things to focus on, but hey, if your mind goes to giving gifts to your husband, who am I to say otherwise? At what point during the hours of labor do you plan to focus on him instead of the actual birth of your child??
I would say not cussing him out would be good enough. I've never heard of a guy getting a gift. I've only heard of the girls getting them for giving the guy a baby.
But if you want to do something how about a picture frame to put a picture of his new baby in. He can take it to work with him.

I'm not sure there is any greater gift in the world then the birth of a healthy baby. Save the hospital for the two of you to get to know your new bundle of joy. This coming from a dad of three and the fourth on the way. The last thing I would want my wife thinking about is what to get me for at the hospital.
If your getting him a "push present" or w/e then flask is a good idea, or a bottle of scotch or something. I would just keep in mind that it would nice if it was something that can be added to if you plan on having more kids. For example a nice watch, then the names can be engraved in the back. Casio makes a nice calculator watch that I had my eye on for quite sometime (7th grade).
If you just want to get him something to do in the hospital, I would have like a mobile video game thing, like a psp or something. I know for my me and my wife labor went on for over 30 hours, and that is just a really long time, mostly we tried to get my wife to sleep, which meant I was in the hospital cafeteria reading STD packets for most of the day, it was terribly boring until active labor started.

It isn't a party!!!
Okay guys, maybe you were right. These hoes just keep on coming.
I agree that the baby is a gift in itself, but if you insist on getting him something, how about a cigar and a six pack/bottle of his favorite drink?
A stripper always makes a great gift.
