...about my Facebook friends "stealing" my favorite names. They have poor taste. Today: baby Marley. Yuck.

Yeah, we've got close friends who named their daughter Marley. I think of the dog every time I hear it. Pretty awful IMO.

Marley isn't my favorite name, but it certainly isn't the worst thing I've heard. I know 2 women with that name.

DH's niece is due in October and planning on Marley Piper.  SIL said that neice watned Marley and her bf wanted Piper and it was as easy as that.  Yeah, certainly not my taste but better than what I was expecting (niece can be a bit eccentric).  Though I wonder if maybe they could have thought on it a bit more.  And yeah, a lot of my FB and IRL friends have totally different taste in names.

I had a few classes with a girl in college named, Marlee. The spelling made it worse to me. Not all of my fb friends are bad at naming: Audrey, Olivia, Seth are a few. I wouldn't use them but they are nice and decent.

I know a little girl Marley and it always makes me think of A Christmas Carol - Jacob Marley.

I don't hate Marley. It's not my style at all, but I've known a few girls named Marley. Could definitely be worse.

This. Marley is a decent enough name. It helps that I have a friend named Marley and she's a pretty awesome person. Never thought of her name as weird.

I have heard far worse. Also, I think the dog association will die out in a few years.
