Help with the original ergo infant insert (not heart 2 heart)

I have the original insert that I never actually used with DD.  I'm trying to get DS into the ergo and I've watched a bunch of you tube videos but I still can't seem to get him in there right.  Or at least it doesn't feel right to me.  Any tips?  I hate to go out and buy the new heart2heart one but it does look easier to use.

    I hated that thing, and only used it once with my DS1. I think some people use a rolled-up towel to boost them up, and then just froggy their legs instead of using the insert. Sorry I'm not much help!
