DD is almost too big for her bath seat and last night before I took her out of the tub I wanted to see how she would handle sitting in the tub. Maybe I just had too much water but it seemed like she was almost floating on her butt, like shes too light. Maybe Im just crazy or something. I really dont want to buy another bath seat because she has to be without one eventully. Is it ok to use a Bumbo in the bath? Are any of your LO's free in the tub?
Re: Floating in the bath?
Bumboo can absorb water which will lead to mold.
But DS likes to try and float around in the water and it drives me insane. So i just hold him in a sitting position.

Lucas is really good about crawling and moving around. He will not sit in the bath tub but lays on his stomach. He holds his head high enough while he plays with the toys. I only have about 2 inches of water but it's enough to get the job done. He also takes swim lessons so its fun to watch him think he's swimming by kicking and splashing all around.
We got a blow up one for DS, they sell them at Walmart. LINK
He got the ducky tub and he just loves it.
But he has been free in a big tub when we travel to our cabin (he loves that too), and I hold the back of his neck because he is all reachy and grabby and seems to be made out of helium.

Not to mention the beak "quack quack quacks" when you squeeze it. It was worthy of some hysterical bath laughs until we used it so much it lost its quack.
ETA: Oh, hold up a second, the ducky tub we got is made by Garanimals and the Garanimals version DOES have a quacky beak. I don't know if the Munchkin's version quacks or not (the one they're selling online), but I *did* recently see the Garanimals ducky tub at our local Walmart, so they ARE still out there...

We haven't really attempted anything but the whale (which he's nearly way too big for).
My cousins daughter is over one and has one of the bath seats that suction to the bathtub floor. I always thought we'd go that route next...but I'm kinda finding them dumb as we reach that age?
DS sits up well on his own and I never leave him unattended in the tub. I'm considering getting one of those big bath sponges. Like this:
I thought maybe it would keep him from sliding while sitting up???
I do like the idea of the blow up tub too to save the amount of water. But I'm not sure where we'd put the tub when we're not using it.
Thanks for bring this up! I'm hitting some baby stores this weekend and amazingly have a list of items we haven't gotten yet for this age.
The duck tub has suction cups to attach to the shower wall when it's not being used.
This..DS loves it, and it fits in the bath so when he spashes it doesn't go everywhere

I'm going to be searching Amazon for dimensions.
