Teething tricks

What is everyone doing to help their LO during teething? We have had some rough days recently.  Feedings are tough... and DS has been up for 2 hour spans in the middle of the night for the last couple of weeks... moaning, doing crazy things with his mouth, and sucking his fingers. He seems so frustrated.

I've tried Tylenol, naturals orajel, teething rings.  Has anyone had experiences with the amber teething necklaces or bracelets? Or have any other tricks to share?

Much appreciated!

Re: Teething tricks

  • This wont help at night, but during the day E loves frozen fruit in the mesh feeder. It helps numb his gums. And lots of time with Sophie! At night just extra snuggles and if it is really bothering him we start with the teething tablets, then try the orajel naturals and finally Tylenol. Not sure if your LO has any teeth yet, but I think the first one was the worst. He has two and working on a third, and each tooth has been a little easier for him to handle. Good luck, hope your LO is able to get some comfort soon!

  • MOTRIN= Lifesaver.  Tylenol is useless for us.  Motrin we give at night when his teeth are REALLY bothering him.  He has an amber necklace but not sure if it works since I'm terrified to take it off.  He doesn't wear it at night to bed but night is always worse because laying down puts more pressure on their mouth.  I use COLD babyfood and teethers and the Hylands gel.  If he wasn't MSPI I'd use Hylands tabs as everyone I know IRL swears by them.

  • Thanks! He hasn't cut a single one yet so we are probably in the toughest time... my buddy doesn't like his Sophie! I don't think he likes the taste... he makes a "yucky face" when she comes even inches from his mouth!

Any brand of teething tablets you would suggest?

  • We also have an amber teething necklace (and also not sure if it works).
As for teething tablets, we use Humphrey's teething strips (the humprey's brand also has tablets). The strips are super easys though, it's tiny and melts on her tongue. I usually wet her paci and stick it on there since she's not terribly fond of the cherry flavor.
The Humphrey's brand doesn't use Belladonna.
