If you needed to change your 1st appointment date (because your DH decided he really did want to come and is only available on Fridays due to work) would you move it up to the Friday before (6 weeks 2 days) or move it back to the Friday after (7 weeks 2 days)?

I wanna get the darn thing over with but I am afraid that at 6 weeks 2 days there is a chance we won't see the heartbeat or anything when they do the dating ultrasound which would be a bummer.

I would move it back.  YOu still might not see much w/ the u/s, but you have a better chance than moving it forward.  Plus, then you'll have less time between your first appointment and your second.

I'd go on the safe side and do 7 weeks even though the extra few days would be torture. I'd rather not take the chance that they won't see something and then have t worry about it.

If you are going to be nervous about not seeing the HB, I would go later. If you can rationalize that it's too early, then do whatever works for you.

I am in the Freak The Eff Out At Every Turn camp when it comes to pregnancy, so I would go later. 

Exactly.  I could go in for early monitoring this pregnancy, but I decline for this very reason.  I'd do 7w.

Dammit.  You guys are right.  I'll push it back.  I need an Advent calendar type thing, like at Christmas.  At least then, at the end of each torturous day of waiting, there would be chocolate.
