::lisamoe:: Granola Bar Recipe

Here it is.  These granola bars are soft** and delicious.

2 cups oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Mix dry ingredients in large bowl and make a well in the middle.

Add:
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup honey
1 egg (beaten)
2 tsp vanilla

Mix and press into a greased 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350* for 20-25 minutes. CUT RIGHT AWAY and let cool in pan. If you wait to cut them until they cool, they will be impossible to cut.**I've always cut right away, but it's hard to imagine these bars being that hard, as mine have always been very soft after they cool.

You could substitute raisins or something else for the chocolate chips, but that would make them too healthy for me. :)image
