They put me on 2nd On Call (meaning there was another nurse they'd call before me) and then never took me off.
I had the chance to earn $150 at a summer camp today (I worked there last year), but I couldn't go because I had to stay local and be available for work at the hospital.
So not only did I not get paid for working at the hospital (I only got like $20 for being on call), but I couldn't even make any money on the side at the camp. To add insult to injury, I couldn't even start any major house project or cooking/baking because I didn't want to get called in to work in the middle.
WTH?!? It was my least favourite/totally incompetent supervisor on today, so there was nothing I could do about it, but seriously so frustrating!!! And then they wonder why I said that signing up for gaps/on call is not a replacement for a 2nd per diem job...
Re: OT: Thanks, Work, for wasting my day
Why would anyone make you do that?!? Are you the only game in town?
What do you do-- so I can never do it? LOL 14 days in a row would kill me.

It's still a little unnerving that a salesperson would have to be there-- that's what techs are supposed to know!
Did you have to get a medical degree to do your job? 14 days straight is worse than a doctor's schedule!
