Baby Showers

Thank you notes

Hi ladies, I mostly lurk here, but I figured you will all give me an honest, proper answer to this question. I'm originally from NY and my family is hosting a baby shower for me there at the beginning of August. I've started receiving gifts in the mail from guest who may be attending (my mom is trying to keep the guest list a surprise) but are saving me shipping costs. (I'm extremely grateful for this.) My question is do I send a thank you note now or wait until after my actual shower? Thanks!

Re: Thank you notes

  • That's funny, this is almost the exact question posted below. Anyways, thank them now! Otherwise, they'll wonder if you got the gift.

My rule of thumb is to send thank yous immediately after receiving a gift!

Well you do one or two now and get them out of the way or you throw them in the pile of the other 30 you need to do later.  Seems like an obvious answer, if you ask me.

He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be.  He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
