My 3yo asked me to turn the volume up on Flo Rida's Blow My Whistle song this a.m. It got me thinking what songs I used to like growing up and didn't realize the meaning behind it.
Saving All My Love for You-Whitney Houston - about an affair
We Don't have to Take our Clothes Off (to have a good time)-Jermaine Stewart (one hit wonder)-explanation in title. My opinion now: naked does not equal a good time but alcohol does!
Turning Japanese - The Vapors - Male masturbation and also a racist song
Our Lips our Sealed - Go Go's - virginity
Any more you can think of?
Re: Remember these songs? I didn't realize what I was singing!
Janet Jackson's If or basically anything Janet Jackson. OMGawd, does anyone remember the Changing Faces (I think that was the name) song Stroke You Up? and let us not forget Short *** Man!
I LOVED these songs too!
lol, My mom talks about how I was 3yo rolling around on the floor singing "Like a Virgin."
I would say a huge portion of the songs we listened to were technically inappropriate. Even songs from the 50s talk about sex.
What about the movies that we watched? I grew up watching Grease and that movie is just SEX from start to finish.
Oh yeah. I was a HUGE Madonna fan by age 5. I'm pretty sure I knew every word to every song on that record.
It totally is, I get super uncomfortable when the office radio plays it daily (it is just me and one guy that are in the showroom near the radio).
I spent an entire family vacation singing Madonna's True Blue album at the top of my lungs from the back seat.
I had a dance routine to He's So Unusual that I did for my older sister and her friends. I was like 6. It was amazing. I also loved She Bop. Thank kittens my mom would have never gotten that.
