Viacom and DirectTV are fighting

And their scrolling messages are taking up half of my tv screen and interfering with my TV Land viewing.

Anyone else notice this issue?  All I know is if there's no Nickelodeon tomorrow there are going to be some ticked off 2 year olds in the neighborhood!

Re: Viacom and DirectTV are fighting

  • Yeah, I think if DirecTV gets rid of all Viacom channels they will lose a ton of business. We were thinking of switching, we won't if they don't have Nick though.

Exactly why we have s'hit we like on the DVR.
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm sick of paying for TV.  Why do we have to still see commercials if we're paying for the channels :)

We had the Netflix via the Wii for a while but recently cancelled.  I might go back to that if they drop Nickelodeon.

Are Bravo shows on hulu?  I can survive without the other channels but have developed an addiction.

They do offer some Bravo shows and it looks like they only offer a limited number of whatever the lastest episode was, for a limited amount of time.  Not bad if you check your favorite show often.

  • I recorded some extra Nick Jr shows today just in case they drop the channels. Thankfully we still have the wii and netflix. But I noticed that they had huge scrolling messages and extra "channels" listed after each of the Viacom channels. Viacom is so douchey... didn't they try to sue Google for the user names of anyone who had watched anything Viacom on YouTube a couple years ago?

  • DH just told me about this.  I hope they don't ditch Nickelodeon.  My DS will not be happy!

  • Well, when I left this morning all of the channels were re-directing you to other channels and none of the Viacom channels were availble.

I don't care to pay more to keep the channels - but am wondering if DirectTV will keep charging us the same?
