Ok DH has a family name that has been passed down. We plan on using his first name as the middle name. So I am not using our actual last name but something that comes close:
Benjamin Lemoin Skills
The conern. Initals BS....we are concerned about the child being picked on....do you think it is a big deal or not?
Re: Tell me what you think of this name.
He's 7 and it's never been a problem. My sister and her husband worried that with the initials B.S. and B.M. he would be teased but the kids don't care in the least! He goes by Ben and I think it's a great name. If you love it use it!!
""No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."
"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you... ever in the world." ~ Nancy Tillman
Emily Mae Skills
Mae was my grandmothers name. She was one of the most imporant people in my life. Her first name was Stella but that is a bit harsh to me for a first name....I know it is coming back but I just am not a fan of it as a first name.
The girls name was the hardest for me to pick becuase I already have 2 daughters lol.
I think the initials are fine and the name is cute too. My husbands initals are C.A.B. and even I call him cab some times. O.o all of his old friends do too. but yeah... Our last name is Ball. There is no getting around the giggles from that one when DD and other LO's get to highschool just something they'll have to deal with, This is the precise reason i've opted to give them very strong names like my daughter "Morrighan" and this baby "Shawn Patrick" or "William Joseph" (and yes if it's a girl) "Ember Daae" (but im pretty sure it's a boy) what ever you make the focus of their name will be what they focus on in their name.
(so what im trying to say is)
Benjamin Lemion is a very strong name i doubt everyone will giggle at his initals till highschool and even then i think only very close friends will realize that's what his initals are.
That is an awesome name! We used DH's first name as our DS's middle name too, but it is an actual family tradition for him
I wouldn't worry too much about the initials. If he's going to be picked on, something will be found no matter what you do.
(Having not thought about it before seeing this post, DH and I just looked at the initials for our name choices and found out that if we have a girl her initials will be ALE, DH is still giggling!)

Both names sound fine. Where did Lemoin come from?
Sorry. I just reread your OP and answered my own question. Cool!

I love Benjamin too!m (I just wish my DH did!) And I don't think BS is a big deal.
I really like the name (and I heart when folks try to incorporate family names), and I wouldn't worry about initials. If anything, he may get a chuckle out of it himself when he's older (like a pp said, her friend jokes about it), but I've seen plenty of people with BJ initials (heck, I even have a Korean friend who prefers to go by his initials BJ, because it's easier to say than his Korean name, and no one really thinks twice about it).
I had my initials on my back-back in high school, EAS... and I was so paranoid when my mom ordered the bag that someday someone would write a Y on the end... never happened, lol.
I also don't think it will be a problem - I knew a BJ in highschool and he wasn't made fun of growing up.
Not totally related, but with you on the "making fun of the name thing"... I LOVE the name Joaquin (I think we're having a boy) however my SO is Hispanic and swears the kid will get made fun of -- :: in his "mexican accent" voice:: "Hey Joaquin, why you waa-king?" Makes me sad I still love the name and keep secretly hoping for a change of heart
