I was just reading my 12 year old cousin's facebook page where somebody took a screen shot of a private conversation they were having and posted it on her page. Now a bunch of people are saying nasty things like calling her a *hore. They are TWELVE! It just baffles me, they are talking about having sex and many more mature things they are not ready for. My cousin is also crying out for help, one of her recent posts said "Is it sad when you don't want to live anymore". I wish I lived closer to her so I could have a nice long chat.

You can anonymously report that screenshot and it will be removed along with all the comments. That is really sad.
Kids in middle school do not have the reasoning skills to understand that anything they type can be saved and even if they would never post a PM other kids might not be as considerate. It just does not occur to them to filter what they are typing. I wish parents would get more involved and set limits and really talk to their kids about Internet safety.

Thanks, I'm going to report the screenshot. Her mom is my aunt-in-law and I don't feel comfortable talking to her myself, but I asked my mother-in-law to talk to her and she said that she has no control and has given up. Makes me really sad. We've extended an invitation for the cousin to come stay with us for a while (at least a school year). Hopefully they take us up on it.
Re: Cyberbully
I'm glad I went through school without FB and cell phones. I can only imagine how much worse it could have been. Kids can be so cruel.
Ok. So I had a cell phone, but it plugged into my car and weighed a ton. It wasn't a mobile cell phone. Someone around here is old.
It's a little disturbing though.
I can't get the ticker to work, but I have two sons:
Baby RJ, born 1/25/2014
