Convert Crib vs New Bed

DH and I are trying to decide whether to get a new bed for DD or to convert her crib. She is using the crib like normal now. She has never tried to get out so we have been in no hurry to take the front off to make it a toddler bed. DD will be 28 months when DS comes. He will probably be in our room until he is about 6 months so DD will be almost 3 by then. We are hoping to build a house in a few years so I was trying to put off getting her a new bed until then but I am starting to think it may be the smarter move now.

    We got DS a new bed after having him in a toddler bed (took side off crib) for a while. I really liked how it went and DS is completely adjusted to his new bed and being ok that new baby will have his old bed even though he'll be in a PnP in our room for a while.

    Did you get him a full or twin?
