VBAC supportive Doctors in the area?

Hello all I just recently found out I was expecting and immediately went on a search to find a doctor who would support my decision to have a VBACK. I've heard so many great things about Dr.Bowen but when I called I was told they did not accept my insurance:-( I've also heard about Dr. Caligaris but seen that he won't induce and you have to deliver at Christ. Anyone ever been to him to have a VBACK? I really do not want another cesarean section this time around so any info would greatly be appreciated! Thanks everyone in advance!

  • Never have been to Dr. Caligaris.  However, just FYI, Seven HIlls Womens Health Center supports VBAC.  My doctor told me at my six week check up (and I wasn't even pregnant!) that I would be fine with a VBAC for my next delivery.  They also induce.  They have several offices so you may want to check to see which deliver where.  I know the ones I see in Milford and Anderson deliver at Mercy Anderson.

A lot of drs won't induce with a VBAC because it greatly increases the risk of uterine rupture.
  • I went to the clinic at Bethesda North and saw the OB on the floor to deliver. I was induced and they also used the Foley Cathedar to ripen my cervix. I had my VBAC in 8 hours!
