soon i will be getting ribbons for the amount of dirty diapers i change.
i guess i will be ranking up as a dad. i've been in basic training for the last 8 months. can't wait to hit the front lines at the gulf of oman that is a smelly diaper or spend those long nights on awake island.
BF3 and sports games...FIFA, NCAA Football... NASCAR and sprint cars (WoO)
all on ps3
I haven't played EA NASCAR since the 2006 version. How is that now on PS3? I would imagine the online racing is pretty intense. I should pick that game up. I used to love it!
I have a PS3 but it is basically a fancy DVD Player. I primarily play PC. I enjoy RPG games mostly. I have started leaning towards any games that allow me to save and quit at any point in time during my game.
I actually do most of my gaming on my phone, because I'm lame like that. I also have a Wii and an XBox 360 at home.
My Wii is mostly used for Husband/Wife bonding over MarioKart. The 360 is used for Kinect games and for Madden. I'm probably going to get some good games for it this fall. I really want to try the Assassins Creed series. I'd been working in an industry where I often had 80+ hour weeks until recently, so I'm just starting to get time back for gaming.
OMFG they are good. I suck at them because I'm all thumbs (or no thumbs) and dont play as well on consoles, but I watch H play.
OP, I also WoW and Diablo, as does H.

Yeah I'm a gamer, I have like a 7 button mouse, and a lot of equipment, build my computer and stuff. I play PC games pretty much exclusively. Currently I play League of Legends, it a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), its like DoTA, if you are familar with that. totally Free to play, and this season has about 2million dollars in the prize pool (yes real money, US dollars). I play with a couple proffesional players, but I'm not as good as them since I have no time to play anymore.
I'm awaiting the release of Guild Wars2, which is the new biggest mmo. Its crazy fun and you can solo in it which is great now that I have the little one I can;t get involved in raids or other extended time multiplayer groups like I used to. This weekend is the last beta weekend before release and its very polished and no subscription fee.
I bought the Sony Ericson Xperia phone, which has a playstaion controller built in, so I play PS1 games on that when I'm waiting around, or when the baby won't let me leave the room. I"m also boss at farmville, I made my farm just replicas of classic 8-bit video game scenes using colored hay bales.
At heart I'm really an old school Final Fantasy fan though. I also only play like maybe 8-10 hours week total, probably less. Too long of a post? maybe. But w/e I'm new.
I am a gamer, mostly play PC Games and mostly single-player ones. Most online games are no longer my friends . Anything that I can?t pause or quit on 30 seconds notice just won?t work with DS. Actualy while he is awake nothing will work, but even once the kid is asleep you never know when he?ll wake up and demand attention.
And of course having kid severely cuts the amount of time available for gaming, which makes most subscription games a waste of money. So I stick with single-player, mostly mix-genre RPG (Skyrim, Fallout, Dead Island)
The only exceptions to SP rule are Star Trek online (f2p and designed in such a way that simply shutting down engines or not moving during away mission guarantees safety) and Warface (PvE missions take about 10 mins to complete and if I really have to quit, well I feel bad abandoning teammates but no serious harm is really done? can?t join a guild or otherwise commit to anything more than causal game now and then)
Mobile games (android) are a big help, but that only works for me cause I have long commute by bus.
Finally, another big friend to the gaming dad is browser based games (at least if you are working in the office settings and allowed to play during lunch and other breaks). The field is dominated by farm sims, mob grinds, and evony clones? but there are some exception and some pretty good games ranging from RPGs to platformers to FPS to strategy.
I haven't really got into the browser games, I was looking for a decent app mmo. I get way too into the evony clones and its not fun. My game of choice is league of legends, which you need to be able to commit an hour to.
My wife and I are both going to try Guild wars 2. So far there are plenty of safe zones and you can "port" to safe places for a few copper (affordable even at low levels). The entire game is solo-able to complete the plot line. I picked ranger which can stealth if they don't move, so I can get to take baby etc. The game is 60$ up front but f2p month to month. It looks really good, I wanted to start a guild for parents and adults where its ok to leave when the baby wakes up. The instances scale to the group size, so 3 or 4 isn't a problem, and there is no standard "healer/tank/dps" meta so any group of players can play together. Let me know if you want to try it out.
Tempting, but probably not. We'll need 2 copies (for myself and my wife) which means $120 not 60... and then end up playing maybe 5 hours a week... maybe...
So most likely we'll stick to the games that are completely f2p.
If you end up playing League of legends, which is completely free to play, hit me up:

There are no servers or anything, its an extremely popular game, I believe there is 2 million in real US dollars on the line for this season. Many pro gamers play it. Its hard to play though since you need to devote time in at least 20-25 minutes chunks and really cannot afk.
Re: Any gamers out there?
Platform: PS3
Genres: First Person Shooters, Sports, Flight sims
COD mw2 & mw3
Great games stand-alone. Online not so much.
Battlefield 3 is the opposite. Great game online, horrible stand-alone.
A great flying game is Ace Combat Assault Horizon. That whole series has been a great one for over ten years now.
yeah, bf3 is pretty entertaining.

I have Xbox 360 Kinect, PC games and mostly now play games on my Android.
I tend to favor action, role playing and strategy games.
I am hooked to Rage of Bahamut on my Android and a drag racing game.
