Adoption

Intro

Hello! I have been lurking for a while and decided to introduce myself.
I have been married for 4 years and have one DS who is 22 months. My first pregnancy ended in a loss at 22 weeks due to neural tube defects. My DS also had minor NTDs which were repaired with surgery after birth.
My DH and I first began discussing adoption after our loss, but ultimately choose to try pregnancy one more time. I am very blessed to have an amazing toddler! He has unfortunatly spent a lot of his young life dealing with health issues. After his NTBs were repaired we were hoping for a break from doctor visits. He has been dealing with blood and bone marrow issues since about 9 months old. He is currently considered to have bone marrow failure and is maintaining only through regular blood transfusions. After lots and lots of tests we still don't have a diagnosis from the failure, but it is believed to be a genetic issue.
I spent the first year of his life trying to convince myself that we would be a single child family.  Over the past 10 months or so we have decide we still want to expand our family and give our DS a sibling.  We have chosen domestic infant adoption as our path and I am very excited! We will be going to our first agency info session next week.

Thanks.  We are seeing a hematologist at Children's hospital right now, but with out any answers I have been pussing for a UofMN referral. Just found out his hemoglobin is 6.2 so we will be going for another transfusion tomorrow morning. I am so frustrated and feeling helpless.  Lots of tests which take so long and so far are only eliminating rather than diagnosing.
